A little something to help you find your nearest postbox

User registration is now open. Authenticated users will be able to access a new export feature. The download link will appear in the menu at the top of the page after your email address has been verified and you are logged in. More features to come when they are ready.

UPDATED:

PostBoxr now has a Terms of Use and Privacy Policy. This is something that I think PostBoxr now needs as it becomes more and popular. I would encourage you to read these, you can find them at the bottom of every page on the site.

I've added a couple of new features to the site here is a list below:

• The ability to add "Last Posting Times" to new postboxes in a separate field.
• Added "Business Postbox" to the type of postbox (This is a postbox that only accepts franked mail).
• Added a text area (multiple line input) to "Further Details" and "Last Posting Times" rather than being restricted to a fixed text field.

Postboxes that contain last posting times in the further details field will be amended in due course. Thanks for all your suggestions to make PostBoxr more useful.

I have implemented a running total of postboxes which if you look closely enough you can see it in the top right hand corner of the site. Every time the page is loaded it gets the total number of postboxes from the PostBoxr database. I am also going to be implementing a scrolling banner of the latest postboxes added. The silver icon symbolises the PostBoxr database, I think this is more exciting and aesthetically pleasing than just having a plain text running total. What do you think? Any Suggestions?

Please have a look at the link below it's a PDF of UK postboxes from Royal Mail. It might help you find or add postboxes near you. Unfortunately the postboxes are listed by their postcode and Royal Mail don't have longitude and latitude coordinates which I need to add to the PostBoxr database. This was made available under the freedom of information act. To be able to open it you need to have a PDF reader on your computer. Any problems leave a comment and i'll advise you.

PostBoxr now has 508 postboxes in the PostBoxr database (at the time of this writing). After just two months of going live I didn't expect that PostBoxr was going to be so well received. Thanks again to everybody.
