This table illustrates the load time for the browse page, it should give you an idea of how long the markers should take to load. At the time of testing there were 4,431 to load. Times are approximate.
The browser cache was emptied prior to loading, so these times are for the first time the page loads, consecutive page loads would be faster after the page has been cached. These were not carried out on the same day either.

Browsing, Heat Maps
The heat maps seem to load a lot quicklier now. Also, they seem to load asynchronously; i.e. you seem to be able to zoom in before they have finished loading.
When I see a heat map cluster with, say, "7" in it, does this mean that all seven postboxen are all within the area of that cluster spot, or does the spot simply mark the *center* of where they are ?
How it works.....
The clusterer looks at the markers as they are in grids. So the numbers relate to how many markers are in that grid, so they could all be where the cluster marker is or in the surrounding area.
