The problem where the link to change the log in panel to OpenID displayed a "page not found" error has been fixed. There was a Javascript conflict. This has now been fixed without any change to the look of the site.

I'm very pleased to announce that the new features that i've been working on for quite a while are now ready.

The site will be offline from 18:00/19:00 BST tonight 13/10/2009 for a while.
This is required to roll out new features.

I have been informed by my hosting provider that PostBoxr may experience some downtime. Please note the following hours during which the service may be interrupted:

START: AUGUST 23rd, 2009 5:01AM BST
END: AUGUST 23rd, 2009 9:00AM BST

I've added a statistics page which can be found here. It can also be found by going to the about page and it will load up as a secondary menu underneath the top menu. At the moment I only have the distribution of postbox types currently listed. The database is queried everytime the page is loaded. Any suggestions for future stats would be appreciated. Not sure whether to move the running total to this page? What do you think?

This table illustrates the load time for the browse page, it should give you an idea of how long the markers should take to load. At the time of testing there were 4,431 to load. Times are approximate.

Browse is now live again. I have adjusted the options that are available to me. The map now groups the clusters in bigger groups when the map loads. I have carried out speed tests which I will publish in another post.

I've updated the browse map. Instead of loading thousands of markers individually, they are now loaded to the map as clusters and display like a heat map. The UI controls have also been updated to the Google default. Oh and the maps a bit bigger to.
